Who Are We?
As of the 20th October 2011, Spina bifida Hydrocephalus Information Networking Equality - Shine, became the new name for the Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (ASBAH). Shine is a registered charity, which was formed in 1966, initially to help families and individuals affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
How We Help
Working together throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, we strive to overcome challenges and achieve the best for you and your family. We’d like to invite you to be a part of the Shine community whether it’s to join in discussions on oursocial networks, share experiences and achievements, take part in our campaigns and research, or access our unique services.
We are a highly active community of members, families, friends and professionals working together to meet the needs, value the contribution and celebrate the lives of people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. As an organisation we listen intently to our membership and the Shine Adult Member’s Council (SAMC) feeds directly into the process and policy of the charity.
